TOWN HALL DEBATES

THE TOWN HALL DEBATES SERIES

The Town Hall Debates Series is six community conversations, one each in June, July, August, and September. The debates are free and open to the public. Each session will feature a moderator, and panel of three proponents and opponents for each subject matter.

Debate subject matters will include three prospective ballot initiatives, the legalization of abortion, recreational marijuana, and approval for the Columbus City Schools Levy.  Two community issues, gun control, crime, police and the courts and the upcoming elections for Mayor, City Council and Columbus School Board.

The Black Caucus of Central Ohio is committed to changing the political landscape in Central Ohio because we believe that every person deserves to have their voice heard and their needs represented in government. For too long, Black communities have been underrepresented and marginalized in the political process, leading to systemic inequalities and injustices.
